Improved efficiency and transparency in legislation system for state government
Earlier, due to lack of use of advanced technology and enhanced features by other vendors, the performance of legislation management system at the state government suffered. The system was not scalable and the delivery timelines were also affected. In order to bring a change for good, we approached the state council to improve their legislation management system for better transparency and communication with state residents.
We analyzed the situation and also consulted the state department leads and their support teams to evaluate their existing processes and the utility of the system. We also identified best practices and challenges involved in developing new system.
Our recommendations included improvements in structure, process and communication based on the data gathered. We developed a user-friendly system using innovative and advanced features and visual process tools for different end users and state residents to get transparent view of upcoming or current legislations.
Within the first 90 days cycle, the new system facilitated in streamlining activities within departments further improving productivity. The web-based legislation system also increased the transparency in communication for state residents. Today, system is fully functional and users are able to use advanced features including auto response, meeting setup and many more.
Increased client revenue using unused contracts vehicle
We were asked by a mid-size government contracting firm to improve the management of their existing IT staff augmentation vehicle contracts to facilitate and utilize contract efficiently.
AssessmentWe developed further relationship with the client to analyse and evaluate competitors rewarded with same contract. Based on systematic evaluation of the situation, we built team of qualified consultants apt for position. We also identified areas of improvement in operation practices to respond promptly to the client. We recruited a new offshore team based out at vTech Solution Inc. and cultivated culture to find qualified candidates immediately, develop process for initial screening, phone interview and final interview with customer.
In first quarter, we created more business for client by placing qualified candidate on staff augmentation contract on temporary and permanent basis. By creating positive culture and promptly responding to customer needs, we generated more business for the client than client had in last five years. We have continued supporting staff augmentation contract and generating additional revenues for client without additional expense to the client and have received appreciation for the same, thus opening further business opportunities with the client.
Enhanced infrastructure security and information security for a small business
A small business in education domain required a network audit and network security assessment that establishes intellectual property of the company, maintains privacy of personal information of students and protects their network against any potential threat. We were asked to conduct audit security of network, intrusion detection and penetration tests as well as review their network security policies and procedures.
We analyzed their infrastructure including security policies, data flow, hardware used and firmware to identify any known threats in existing network. Using ' Nmap' and other Vulnerability assessment tools, we tested and identify loopholes in network. We ran network penetration test and risk assessment test to examine any security breach in network.
In addition to finding personal information such as tax returns on company PCs, over 98% of the employee passwords and the payroll server were compromised in minutes. The findings provided enough information to substantiate an upgrade to the security policies, procedures and a methodology was established to monitor the new policies going-forward. Intrusion detection and penetration testing are performed on a quarterly basis. These processes have enhanced security of customer significantly and the customer also received PCI compliance. This also aided the customer in obtaining larger projects which were earlier difficult to acquire because of security concerns.
